“Apple a Day” Green smoothie

4 apples, cored and cut into chunks

4 cups romaine lettuce or favorite green leafy vegetable

2 stalks celery, chopped

3 dates as a sweetener (optional)

½ cup ice

½ cup water

1 tablespoon freshly ground sunflower seeds (optional)

Add first six ingredients to blender on high speed. Blend until smooth. Sprinkle sunflower seeds before serving.
